ANDHRA PRADESH MEDICAL COUNCIL: HYDERABAD-500 095
DECISIONS TAKEN IN THE MEETING OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
HELD ON 02-05-2008 AT IN Dr.CHIGURUPATI NAGESHWARA RAO
COUNCIL’S HALL, HYDERABAD.
1.
It is resolved to display the salient features of the decisions of the general body and executive committee on the web site of the council.
2.
It is also resolved that a letter be addressed to the commissioner, Indian medicine to initiate action against practitioners of ayurveda / Unani / homeopathy who are prescribing schedule drugs.

It is resolved at the question of granting registration to the candidates possessing M.D.(Venereology) degree of Andhra or Osmania or any other University in the state does not arise, in view of the fact that M.D.(venereology) is not recognized in any Medical college in the state.

It is resolved that action be initiated against those who are violating the medical code of ethics. It is also resolved to address the press councilwith regard to the unethical advertisements appearing in print medical/electronic media to discourage such advertisements.

(i) It is resolved that APMC gold medal shall be awarded to the best out going student of each medical collage in the state who secures highest mark in final MBBS examination, both part-1 and part-2 put together it is also resolved that the candidate be eligible for such gold medal, if he/she passes in all paper at the end of each year (i.e. . first MBBS &second MBBS) in the first attempt allow with regular candidate of their batch.
(ii). It is resolved that if any body /organization comes forward to conduct CME programmes including “poly Trauma",the APMC will encourage such organisation. Also resolved to provide funds to CME programmes on all basic sciences and non-clinical subjects’ @Rs.10, 000/- per one day and @ Rs. 20,000/- for the CME programmes which will extend for 2 days.

      It is resolved to address all the principals of the Medical colleges (26) and superintendents of the attached teaching hospitals that internees Ethics awareness programme be treated as equivalent to the statutory provision and any attempt to evade conducting/attending the meeting will result in not getting the registration done with APMC. Also resolved to request the principals and superintendents that APMC gold medal award function be arranged along with Internees Ethics to be conducted in the colleges /hospital concerned.
 
(iii). It is resolved that caveat be filed in the High Court hear after, where punishment is given by APMC.
 
(iv). It is resolved to address the registrars of Karnataka/Tamil Nadu and Kerala Medical Councils to intimate that the name of Dr.M.Srinivas Rao had been removed from the AP MEDICAL Register for a period of One year under Section 17 (2) of the Act.
 
(v). It has been decided that in respect of PG qualification , ware the post graduate committee on medical education recommends of MCI for recognition of particular qualification and in turn , the MCI addresses the govt. of India for publication in govt. of India Gazette about the recognition
of that particular qualification could be registered . How ever the candidates should submit copies such recommendation letters of MCI to Govt. of India for publication in Govt. of India Gazette along with their application.
